HEALTH PHYSICIST I

Saskatoon


You will provide technical support on radiation protection issues, including developing and utilizing specialized tools to project radiological conditions to assist the sites in mitigating potential hazards. You will also provide direction to the sites on ALARA initiatives in order to effectively focus activities on high risk areas. You will play a role in the implementation of the radiation protection program and associated standards at the sites, including modifying or improving site documentation, ensuring proper equipment use and consistency across the sites. In addition, you will assist in the administration of radiation data primarily through the CamRad radiation database system, as well as assist in licensing activities, regulatory inspections and internal audit support.   You have a bachelor’s degree in health physics or other physical sciences/engineering, with two to three years of relevant work experience, or a combined equivalent. You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with an ability to independently achieve results through solid organizational and analytical skills.   

Eligibility for registration with the Health Physics Association, Canadian Radiation Protection Association and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) are considered assets.
